What Is an Oil Lubricated Vibrating Screen?

FYK Oil Lubricated Mining Vibrating Screen is a high-performance circular vibrating screen designed for screening stone, ore, coal, and other bulk materials in mining, quarrying, and aggregate production plants. It is suitable for high capacity operations and continuous production environments where stable material classification is required. For processing heavily contaminated run-of-mine materials with high clay content, this screening stage is commonly preceded by an intensive rotary heavy duty trommel screen machine to achieve thorough material washing and prevent fine mesh blinding.

The bearings are lubricated by a circulating oil system instead of grease. Oil continuously flows through the bearings and carries away heat during operation, helping maintain a lower bearing temperature. This reduces bearing wear during long running hours and makes the screen suitable for heavy duty crushing and screening lines with continuous production demands.

How an Oil Lubricated Vibrating Screen Works

The Oil-Lubricated Mining Vibrating Screen separates materials by size through continuous circular vibration. During operation, the oil circulation system lubricates and cools the vibrator bearings to support continuous operation in mining and aggregate plants.

  • Material Feeding and Screening

Material is fed onto the screen deck and moves forward under vibration. Fine material passes through the screen openings, while oversized material moves to the discharge end. This continuous sorting stage is standardly configured to receive the multi-size discharged rock fractions straight from primary mining jaw crusher units.

  • Vibration Generation

The motor drives the vibrator through a V belt. The rotating eccentric block generates circular vibration across the entire screen surface.

  • Oil Lubrication and Cooling

Oil is continuously supplied to the vibrator bearings during operation. As it flows through the bearings, it reduces friction and removes heat generated by vibration.

  • Oil Recirculation

The oil returns to the lubrication unit after passing through the bearings. After filtration and cooling, it is circulated back into the system.

Working Principle of Oil-Lubricated Mining Vibrating Screen

Features

FYK Oil Lubricated Mining Vibrating Screen uses an oil circulation lubrication system to reduce bearing heat and wear during screening. It features stable operation, lower maintenance frequency and reliable performance for heavy-duty aggregate and mining production lines.

High Capacity Screening Performance

Multi-layer screen design supports large processing capacity and stable material grading. Suitable for quarry, mining and large aggregate crushing plants with continuous high-load screening.

Oil Lubrication System

Circulating oil continuously removes friction heat from bearings and vibrators. Compared with grease lubrication, it reduces temperature rise, lowers failure rate and extends bearing service life.

Integrated Vibrator Structure for Easy Maintenance

The vibrator adopts an integrated structure for faster disassembly and replacement. Maintenance time is shortened, reducing production downtime and improving operating efficiency.

Heavy Duty Weld-Free Screen Structure

Side plates use cold-formed steel plate without welding to avoid cracking risks. High-strength bolted structure improves machine durability and supports long-term stable operation.

Applications

The FYK vibrating screen is used to separate and classify bulk materials by size.It is widely used in quarry, mining, coal, and building material plants with capacities ranging from less than 100 T/H to more than 1,000 T/H. The oil circulation system supports continuous operation in production lines running 16–24 hours per day.

Coal Screening and Washing Plants
Aggregate Production Lines
Used for screening crushed stone, gravel, and manufactured sand after primary or secondary crushing. It helps separate different product sizes before stockpiling, with capacities commonly ranging from 100–1000 T/H depending on the screen model.
Mining Ore Screening
Mining Ore Screening
Used for screening iron ore, copper ore, gold ore, limestone, and other mined materials. The machine is suitable for heavy material loads and continuous operation in large ore processing plants.
Coal Processing Plants
Coal Processing Plants
Used for raw coal sizing and classification before washing, crushing, or transportation. It can handle large material volumes while operating in dusty working conditions common in coal preparation plants.
Cement and Building Materials
Cement and Building Materials
Used for screening limestone, clinker, slag, and similar bulk materials. It is often installed in cement plants and building material production lines where stable throughput and continuous operation are required.

Oil Lubricated vs Grease Lubricated Vibrating Screens

Oil and grease lubrication are the two most common lubrication methods used in mining vibrating screens. Oil lubrication is typically used in large-scale screening plants with long operating hours, while grease lubrication is more common in smaller production lines. The table below highlights the main differences between the two systems.

ItemOil-Lubricated ScreenGrease-Lubricated Screen
Lubrication MethodCirculating oil systemGrease lubrication
Bearing CoolingContinuous cooling during operationLimited cooling effect
Bearing TemperatureLower during long running hoursHigher under heavy loads
Maintenance FrequencyLonger service intervalsMore frequent lubrication required
Bearing WearReduced bearing wearHigher wear under continuous operation
DowntimeFewer maintenance shutdownsMore maintenance-related stoppages
Operating NoiseSmoother running conditionMay increase over time

Continuous OperationSuitable for long-term operationSuitable for intermittent operation
Initial CostHigherLower

For production lines operating 16–24 hours per day, oil lubrication is often preferred because it provides continuous bearing cooling and requires less frequent maintenance. Grease lubrication remains a practical choice for smaller plants with lower operating hours and simpler maintenance requirements.
